About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fluid Systems Engineer III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Transportation business unit, you will be responsible for designing and developing heat exchangers for our Blue Moon lander product lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform trade studies and derive requirements for heat exchangers in the Lunar Lander's fluid system
  • Manage procurement, testing, and integration of heat exchangers
  • Develop a strong fundamental understanding of cryogenic fluid systems and multiphase flow regimes
  • Collaborate with NASA and our National Team Partners on the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program
Requirements
  • B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area
  • 3+ years of experience in fluid system design, analysis, component specification, and procurement
  • Strong grasp of fluids and heat transfer fundamentals
  • Experience performing sizing and heat transfer calculations for heat exchangers
  • Familiarity with fluid system solvers such as sinda fluint or thermal desktop
  • Experience in 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools (ANSYS preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Engineering or related technical subject area
  • Experience in all phases of integrating components in space vehicles
  • Experience in engineering analysis/support for disposition of Non-Conformance (NC) related to fluid components, machined parts, and mechanical assemblies
