We are seeking a highly skilled Public Policy Specialist to join our team at the Allegheny County Department of Human Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public policy, government affairs, and legislative analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Monitor and analyze federal, state, and local government agencies' actions to identify policy implications for human services clients, programs, and funding.
- Develop and maintain relationships with government officials, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
- Provide policy analysis and recommendations to department leaders and other stakeholders.
- Represent the department in communications with other County Departments, state, and federal agencies.
- Contribute to the development of proposals, plans, and budgets that align with department goals and priorities.
- Bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, political science, or a related field, plus 2+ years of relevant experience.
- Master's degree in public policy, public administration, political science, or a related field.
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience that meets the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
