Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sprinkler Inspector to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our life safety product lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance of sprinkler systems to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices to ensure proper operation of life safety equipment.
  • Learn to complete service acknowledgements and input inspection documentation using laptop computers and/or hard copy.
  • Follow and maintain a structured inspection schedule to ensure timely completion of inspections.
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documentation using our inspection program.
  • Make minor repairs and programming changes under authorized supervision.
  • Complete assigned inspections on time and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of documented experience in sprinkler systems.
  • Able to obtain and retain required licenses and certifications.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, and operational manuals.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Experience with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, and foam systems.
  • Demonstrates troubleshooting skills and ability to perform necessary repairs.
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual positions, such as climbing ladders and scaffolding, and working in crawl spaces and above ceilings.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends.
  • Willing to travel out of town.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Repair experience.
  • Backflow certification.
  • NICET Level II certification.
