Job Overview

Wargaming is seeking an experienced and passionate UX Researcher to join the Center for Player Insights. This is a hybrid position based in Austin, Texas, requiring one day of office work per week and presence in the office during research activities.

The successful candidate will work directly with games teams to advocate for the player and influence product development. They will conduct in-lab and remote testing using various methods, including playtesting, usability testing, expert review, and one-to-one interviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, and execute research studies to inform game development and improve player experience.
  • Lead communication with stakeholders to turn research requests into clear business goals and objectives.
  • Own the research process for individual projects, from scope and planning to analysis and reporting.
  • Deliver impactful and actionable research output through effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Evangelize the role and benefits of user experience across the company.
  • Contribute to the Center for Player Insights research strategy and support team members in conducting research.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of industry experience in UX Research or user research, preferably in video games.
  • Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Sociology, or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of user experience and user research methodology and theory.
  • End-to-end experience with all aspects of the user research life cycle, including project management, study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, and communication.
  • Experience in managing and conducting in-house playtests in remote and lab-based conditions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Curiosity and creativity, with a passion for problem-solving and complex issues.
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of the game development process.
  • Experience playing Wargaming titles.
  • Fluency in Russian.
