This is a senior-level administrative position that serves as a staff assistant to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The successful candidate will perform advanced professional-level administrative work, including management studies, policy analyses, and project assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct investigations and surveys as assigned by the CAO.
- Assist departments and agencies in developing work plans to address operational deficiencies or to improve operations.
- Write reports on findings and make recommendations for alternative courses of action.
- Assist the CAO in day-to-day operations and special projects as directed.
- Receive complaints and suggestions and relay concerns and recommended solutions to the CAO.
- Advise department heads and other officials on matters and special projects as directed by the CAO.
- Perform advanced administrative labor relations work under executive-level direction.
- Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Thorough knowledge of local government administration and working knowledge of legal requirements.
- Ability to gather and analyze information and data from multiple sources and make recommendations based on that information.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with department heads and other officials.
