Job Summary

Cassena Care is seeking a skilled Managed Care Medical Biller to join our team of professionals. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of healthcare claims to various insurance companies.

Responsibilities
  • Claims Processing: Collect, enter, and process primary and/or secondary claim information on departmental cycles for multiple skilled nursing facilities (SNFs).
  • Verification and Authorization: Monitor verifications and authorizations obtained and ensure complete service spans are covered.
  • Customer Service: Answer business office manager and/or responsible party inquiries on account status and charges.
  • Denial Management: Researches and resolves all zero payment explanations or benefits and exercises all options to obtain claims payments; initiates adjustments as necessary.
  • Claims Submission: Timely submission of SNF claims to various insurance companies.
  • Claims Preparation: Prepares and generates clean claims for submission to all payor types, including third-party payors, Medicare, and Medicaid.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain working relationships with internal/external providers to ensure billings and collections procedures are current.
  • Monthly Billing: Monthly billing for all commercial and managed care plans.
  • Authorization Oversight: Oversee authorization process to ensure accuracy.
  • Cash Management: Create deposits weekly and post cash to resident ledgers weekly.
  • Accounts Receivable: Follow up on all outstanding A/R.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required; Associates Degree or Medical Billing Certificate preferred.
  • Experience: Experience in area of billing, denials review, and accounts receivable processes required.
  • Specialized Knowledge: Medicaid and managed care billing experience.
