Key Responsibilities- Lead the spiritual care team in providing high-quality services that meet the needs of our patients, families, and staff.
- Collaborate with the Director of Spiritual Care to develop and implement spiritual care strategies that align with Trinity Health's mission and values.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to chaplains within the local community.
- Participate in the provision of spiritual care services, balancing this role with the responsibilities of spiritual care oversight.
- Report to the Director of Spiritual Care and collaborate with the Local Mission Leader to implement spiritual care strategies that contribute to Trinity Health's strategic aims.
- Assist in accessing resources to implement spiritual care priorities and promote the use of the Trinity Health Leadership System (THLS) in planning, implementing, and assessing spiritual care activities.
- Oversee standard best practices for evidence-based spiritual care assessments, interventions, and outcomes as documented in the electronic Medical Record.
- Maintain a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, and other policies and procedures.
- Must be a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) via one of the following licensing groups: APC, CASC, NACC, or NAJC, including completion of a Master of Divinity or an equivalent degree from an Association of Theological School accredited seminary or divinity school along with completion of 4 units (1600 hours) of ACPE Spiritual Care.
- Must have at least three (3) years of professional team/project leadership experience along with five (5) years of progressively responsible experience managing projects and process improvement initiatives in the area of Spiritual Care or a related field.
- Pastoral experience is required. At least one (1) year of experience in a healthcare ministry is preferred. An equivalent combination of experience may be considered.
- Strong aptitude in project leadership, process improvement, budgetary management, as well as analytical skills required.
- Ability to effectively manage and facilitate colleagues within assigned unit/department through strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to influence results, garner support, and tactfully manage complex relationships and influences within and across the organization.
- Must possess flexibility in adapting to changing deadlines, competing priorities, and unexpected assignments.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in the primary language of the workplace (English) with evidence of excellent interpersonal skills as well as the ability to present effectively before groups.
- Must be able to communicate effectively using clinical/medical terminology.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and an ability to learn and utilize other relevant software programs.
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.
The Spiritual Care Manager will be required to travel within the local community across the continuum of care to various Trinity Health sites up to 25% of the time, as needed.
