Director of Social Work

Are you passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of refugees in St. Louis? We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Director of Social Work to join our team at the International Institute of St. Louis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement department protocols to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Initiate and set goals for programs aligned with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Plan programs from start to completion, including deadlines, milestones, and processes.
  • Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the design, marketing, promotion, delivery, and quality of programs, products, and services.
  • Apply change, risk, and resource management principles as needed.
  • Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies.
  • Manage grants, including writing proposals, data collection, and analysis for grant reporting and quality improvement.
  • Represent the organization in the community and workplace in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Supervise program and project managers, providing feedback and resolving complex problems.
  • Prepare annual performance evaluations for assigned staff.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a program director or other managerial position.
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
  • Outstanding knowledge of data analysis, reporting, and budgeting.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and program management software.
  • A business acumen with a strategic ability.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
Education and Experience:
  • MSW (LMSW or LCSW preferred).
  • 7-10 years of social work experience in a non-profit setting.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in program management, including designing, implementing, and evaluating social work programs that meet business needs.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, budgeting, and grant post-award administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supervising and mentoring a multidisciplinary team or social workers and interns.
