Position Summary:
The Process Manager will oversee the manufacturing operations within a designated business unit, ensuring the safe and efficient production of Waste Handling Equipment. This role is pivotal in managing the entire manufacturing process, from raw materials to final assembly, while employing Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Strong leadership abilities in team development, goal achievement, effective communication, strategic planning, and change management are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate production activities to ensure timely delivery and high-quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve issues that may impact production schedules or product quality.
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality standards for all plant personnel, ensuring proper documentation of processes.
- Review and adjust production work orders as necessary.
- Plan and execute production work orders effectively.
- Implement improvements in cell and work center layouts.
- Lead Lean initiatives, including Visual Factory, Kanbans, and Kaizens, aligned with the business strategy.
- Ensure consistent attendance and flexibility to meet production goals, including potential overtime.
- Participate in weekly scheduling and daily production meetings, ensuring accurate communication of changes.
- Promote a positive workforce culture and address team member concerns proactively.
- Contribute to studies aimed at reducing scrap, cycle times, and costs.
- Engage in quality and safety enhancement initiatives.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Proficient in process mapping, time studies, and workstation setups.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with JD Edwards is a plus.
- Team-oriented with a proactive approach.
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Adept at systematic analysis of issues and situations.
- Ability to propose innovative solutions with sound judgment and strategic thinking.
