We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our OB-GYN team on a part-time basis. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs and gathering relevant health information.
- Monitor and complete clinical integration and quality improvement measures.
- Perform laboratory procedures, including strep tests and wound cultures, using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with procedures such as pelvic exams and allergy testing.
- Administer routine medications under physician orders or medical group-approved standing orders.
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure smooth clinic flow.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- GED or high school equivalency diploma.
- Completion of an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program or 2 years of verifiable experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding and electronic medical records systems.
This role requires sitting, standing, walking, lifting, and bending throughout the workday. Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.
