As a key member of the facilities management team, you will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure the smooth operation of campus facilities. Your expertise in plumbing, pipefitting, and pipe welding will be invaluable in maintaining the high standards of Cornell's facilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the trade, with at least 5 years of experience in plumbing or a related field. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with certification as an apprentice plumber. Experience with high-pressure steam boilers is desirable.

You will be working on a contract basis within the Building Trades Council, with a starting pay rate of $40.47 per hour. This is a union position, and you will be required to join the local Plumbers Union within 30 days of commencing employment.

In addition to your technical skills, excellent customer relations, interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills are essential for this role. You must be able to inspect and work in confined spaces, including crawl spaces, attics, laboratories, and mechanical rooms. A valid US driver's license is also required, as you may be required to operate a motor vehicle to travel to job sites.
