We are seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to join our team at the University of Washington. As a key member of our Network Design and Architecture team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced network architectures that support the University's research, teaching, and learning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement network architectures that meet the University's needs for scalability, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of network services and infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
- Provide technical guidance and support to network engineers and other stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in network architecture and design.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
- Seven or more years of experience in network architecture, design, and implementation.
- Strong expertise in network management systems, datacenter and cloud constructs, and virtualization and automation technologies.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to document technical information and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience in a higher education, research, or medical/healthcare organization.
- Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and software coding tools and practices such as Agile, DevOps, Python, Ansible, Django, GitHub, and Containers.
- Experience with ServiceNow, Atlassian Confluence and JIRA, O365, and Google Suite.
