Bakery/Deli Cook Job Summary

To deliver exceptional results and exceed customer expectations, we are seeking a skilled Bakery/Deli Cook to join our team at Harps Food Stores. As a key member of our food service department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality products and services while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Service Department Operations: Support the preparation and presentation of high-quality food products, including department readiness, staffing, supervision, and inventory management.
  • Replenishment & Inventory Procedures: Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory control to ensure accurate stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Equipment and Tools: Maintain and clean equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Food Production and Processing: Follow company guidelines for food preparation, production, and processing to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Department Cleaning Standards: Adhere to cleaning standards and procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Problem Solving: Utilize critical thinking skills to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Safety/Quality Orientation: Prioritize safety and quality in all aspects of job performance.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent preferred.
  • Prior work experience in food service preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Adaptable to different situations and able to respond to shifting priorities and rapid change.
  • Ability to interpret and follow instructions.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk continuously throughout shift.
  • Visual acuity to locate merchandise and verify information.

Employment at Harps Food Stores may be contingent upon completion and evaluation of a PEP survey, drug screen, employment reference check, and criminal background check.
