Equipment Management:

As a Medical Equipment Technician at Brigham and Women's Hospital(BWH), you will be responsible for performing equipment rounds, retrieving tagged or broken equipment from patient care areas, and reporting findings to the team leader or designee. You will also pick up and deliver equipment between Biomed shops and clinical departments, as well as retrieve and deliver parts and supplies.


Maintenance and Inspection:

You will inspect Biomed network closets, ensuring equipment components such as filters, cables, and batteries are in good condition, and update inspection labels as needed. You will also report any abnormalities or deviations to the resource technician or team leader.


Project Assistance:

You will assist biomedical technicians and clinical engineers in infusion pump-related projects, such as recall response or drug library updates, and related activities as needed.


Inventory and Visual Inspection:

You will take inventory of medical equipment, visually inspect equipment for physical damage, apply appropriate labels as needed, identify and track missing devices, and update the CMMS database as to device status.


Vendor Service Support:

You will retrieve, scan, and upload vendor service reports to device work orders and contact vendors to request any outstanding reports.


Basic Technical Support:

You will assist with general team support or other activities as directed by the supervisor.


  • Minimum High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Preferred some college or non-technical Associates degree.
  • Familiarity with patient-care-based technologies.
  • Experience in training and evaluation methods.
