Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA2) to join our team in our Cardiac Surgery Unit. In this role, you will assist professional nursing personnel in providing quality patient care by performing tasks involving direct and indirect patient care. Your skills and knowledge in basic nursing assistant procedures and techniques will be essential in providing excellent patient outcomes.

About the Role

This is a part-time position with a schedule of 0.75 FTE, working day shifts. The salary range for this position is $21.48 - $31.88 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Responsibilities
  • Assist in providing direct patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse within the scope of the CNA licensure.
  • Perform basic technical skills, such as CPR, taking and recording vital signs, measuring and recording fluid intake/output, applying dressings, recognizing and reporting signs and symptoms of common diseases or conditions, and administering treatments as directed by a physician or nurse.
  • Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, mouth and skin care, grooming and dressing, toileting assistance, eating and hydration.
  • Provide patients with help walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
  • Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs.
  • Document relevant patient care data.
  • May provide clerical support to the unit, including order entry, chart processing, answering telephones, etc.
Requirements
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) licensure in Oregon.
  • Minimum one year of experience in an acute care facility preferred.
  • Graduate of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant program required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age-specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs.
Working Conditions

As a CNA2 in our Cardiac Surgery Unit, you will be exposed to various physical demands, including lifting up to 35 pounds without assistive equipment, fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment, and frequent bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, and kneeling. You will also need to maintain the confidentiality and integrity of patient information at all times.
