Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with surgical procedures, including preparing and maintaining equipment, instruments, and supplies.
  • Provide therapeutic, preventive, and emergency patient care duties, as directed by a registered professional nurse.
  • Maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical procedures.
  • Participate in shared governance committees and contribute to unit staff meetings and in-service programs.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of a vocational or military course in surgical technology, or certification as a surgical technologist (NBSTSA and NCCT).
  • Two years' experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Direct patient care experience in an operating room, preferably with a strong understanding of surgical equipment and instrumentation.
