Key Responsibilities- Perform services and functions within assigned areas, utilizing advanced skills and knowledge to ensure safe, effective, and efficient services and patient care.
- Serve as an expert with equipment and technology in specialized areas, problem-solving technical issues as they arise.
- Ensure documents and records are accurate and timely completed, identifying quality improvement opportunities based on specialized skill sets.
- Collaborate with department leaders to develop and coordinate team member education, training, orientation, and competency.
- Serve as a resource in specialized areas for other pharmacy team members, physicians, nurses, and ancillary departments.
- Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or Pharmacy Technician Certified (CPhT) issued by the National Healthcare Association.
- Licensure in the state for which they provide medication history services.
- High School Graduate.
- Typically requires 5 years of experience in hospital or retail pharmacy technician role, depending on specialty area.
This role requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the work day. The ability to lift up to 35 lbs from floor to chest level, lift and carry up to 35 lbs at waist height a reasonable distance, and push/pull with 30 lbs of force is also required.
