About the Role

Eaton Aerospace is seeking a skilled Machinist A to join our team on the 2nd shift. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for setting up complex parts and operating machines with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret plans, work orders, blueprints, or drawings to determine the necessary work required, with a full understanding of GD&T.
  • Inspect parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gauges, and comparators.
  • Finish all parts with different materials to close tolerance without supervision.
  • Examine the surface of the work piece for defects before starting work.
  • Meet production and quality requirements at all times, maintaining a clean work area.
  • Modify machining feed and speeds on multiple material types and select tooling, gauges as required.
  • Use measuring tools, air gauges, micrometers, and other inspection tools to verify part quality.
  • Replace worn tools, inspect parts, and adjust tool offsets as needed.
  • Work as a team player, following all safety rules and regulations.
  • Drive continuous process improvements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Aerospace experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 plus years experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering.
  • Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming.
  • Proficiency with computer-based methods and tools.
  • Familiarity/experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology.
