Aerospace Machinist A Job Description

Eaton Aerospace Group is seeking a skilled Machinist A to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. As a Machinist A, you will be responsible for setting up complex parts and operating machines without supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interprets plans, work orders, blueprints, or drawings to determine the necessary work required.
  • Inspects parts for quality and appropriate tolerance using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, air gages, and comparators.
  • Finishes all parts with different materials to close tolerance without supervision.
  • Examines the surface of work pieces for defects before starting work.
  • Meets production and quality requirements at all times and keeps the work area clean.
  • Modifies machining feed and speeds on multiple material types and selects tooling, gauges as needed.
  • Uses measuring tools, air gauges, micrometers, and other inspection tools to verify part quality.
  • Replaces worn tools, inspects parts, and adjusts tool offsets as needed.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds often.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Aerospace experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in machining, honing, or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
  • Involvement in successful process definition and re-engineering.
  • Experience in employee involvement in multi-discipline teaming.
  • Proficiency with computer-based methods and tools.
  • Familiarity/experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement and Six Sigma methodology.
