Role Overview
As a Vascular Technologist, you will play a crucial role in patient diagnostics and care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and maintaining diagnostic equipment and necessary supplies.
- Scheduling patient appointments efficiently and adhering to departmental protocols for urgent cases.
- Exhibiting clinical proficiency in all procedures.
- Communicating significant clinical findings that may influence test interpretations, including patient history and physiological observations.
- Ensuring accurate and timely documentation, facilitating the transfer of data to the interpreting physician.
- Implementing safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Verifying patient identities through established methods to ensure accuracy in care.
- Gathering and utilizing relevant historical information to enhance procedural outcomes, while educating patients to foster understanding and cooperation.
- Training and guiding new employees and students in the proper execution of diagnostic procedures.
- Reviewing test images for quality assurance and comparing current scans with previous results to provide comprehensive summaries for the medical team.
- Complying with all applicable safety regulations and standards.
Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
- A valid certification in the relevant field.
- An Associate's Degree.
- Preferred experience of at least one year in Ultrasound.
- Preferred experience of at least one year in Vascular technology.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification.
- Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
Travel Requirements
Travel is rarely required for this position.
