Key Responsibilities- Design Leadership: Develop a thorough understanding of the project's design philosophy and provide major input in developing a design and building performance strategy.
- Technical Design: Provide technical design input, taking responsibility for the project's technical design efforts, detailed design development, project coordination, and quality control during all phases.
- Mentorship: Mentor emerging and recently licensed professionals within the practice group.
- Project Oversight: Provide technical and professional oversight as a Senior Project Architect for future project architects within the practice group.
- Research and Development: Seek creative and innovative solutions, develop appropriate research, and document these solutions.
- Collaboration: Actively collaborate with and coordinate the work of consultants and knowledge resources to ensure project deliverables are coordinated, integrated, and support the design concept and performance goals.
- Documentation: Lead the detailed development of construction documents during all project phases, ensuring complete, accurate, and coordinated project documentation.
- Agency Review: Execute applicable agency review analysis (Accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.).
- Client Communication: Maintain contact with clients, consultants, and contractors during all project phases, participating in marketing, client, and owner presentations as required.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture (Master's degree preferred).
- Experience: 10+ years of professional experience with small-to-large scale project types, including Workplace/Commercial Interiors, Interior Architecture, Core and Shell projects, Adaptive Reuse (multiple program types), Hospitality, and Building Repositioning.
- Licensure: Architecture license in California required.
- Skills: Current knowledge and use of California Building Codes, experience working with local Building & Safety offices, proficiency in Revit, and experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, and other graphic tools.
- Certifications: LEED accreditation preferred.
