Position: Patient Care Technician

Highland Care Center, a premier 320-bed Skilled Nursing Facility, is actively seeking compassionate and dedicated Patient Care Technicians to enhance our team.

Compensation:
Starting at $21.48 per hour, with additional shift differentials. Union benefits available based on hours worked, including:

Key Responsibilities:
As a Patient Care Technician, you will:

  • Deliver personal care services, including grooming, bathing, dressing, and oral hygiene for residents on a daily basis.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in resident rooms, including changing bed linens and ensuring grooming supplies are stocked.
  • Assist residents with mobility and transfers, utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Monitor and document vital signs, weight, and other health metrics as assigned.
  • Observe residents closely and communicate any changes in their condition to the nursing staff.
  • Contribute to the assessment and planning of resident care, providing valuable input to nursing staff.
  • Ensure residents receive adequate hydration and assist with meal preparation and transportation to dining areas.

Qualifications:
To be considered for the Patient Care Technician role, candidates must possess:

  • Current Nursing Assistant certification in New York.
  • Active CPR certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a skilled nursing environment is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A high level of professionalism and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and effectively support organizational goals.
  • Customer service orientation and the ability to perform well under pressure.
