About the Role

The Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our buildings and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including repairs and replacements of building equipment and systems
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify and address potential issues
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and minimize disruptions
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and extend the lifespan of equipment and systems
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights of up to 10 feet
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
