Job Summary

A commercial sheet metal installer is responsible for working on all forms of commercial projects, with a focus on sheet metal fabrication and installation of metal wall panels and roof panel systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of quality and install correctly according to Upson Company and SMACNA standards.
  • Understand Shop Drawings and Plans.
  • Install ACM Panels and other types of Exterior cladding.
  • Install Soffit's, Fascia's, Gutters and Downspouts.
  • Perform Copper Detail and Soldering.
  • Install all types of standing seam panel systems.
Requirements
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to pass pre-hire physical and pre-hire drug screen.
  • Valid Driver's License with no restriction, Reliable Transportation.
  • Sheet Metal Hand Tools Required.
  • Minimum 1 year's experience installing Sheet Metal for Commercial roofing (preferred).
  • Reach, lift and maneuver supplies and ladders up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
  • Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Carry out duties in varying outdoor climate conditions for extended periods of time.
  • Must be comfortable with working in a job environment more than 6 ft off the ground.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Self-Motivated and able to work without supervision.
  • Layout and Fabrication experience beneficial.
  • Be professional, respectful, and maintain composure with customers and co-workers.
  • Possess accurate oral and written communication skills.
  • Follow company policies and procedures, OSHA, and applicable State and Federal laws.
  • Ability to listen, follow instructions, and learn new tasks.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Bi-lingual English and Spanish beneficial.
  • Produce quality work on an ongoing basis.
  • Professional customer service at all times.
  • Proficient problem solver.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Task-oriented and dependable.
  • Team-oriented with ability to excel in a team environment.
