Position Overview:
The Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated professional to manage the acquisition and oversight of properties within its portfolio. This role is essential in facilitating the transformation of distressed properties into valuable assets for the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all transactions related to land, ensuring a transparent and efficient process for property conveyance.
- Conduct thorough research on parcels eligible for acquisition, utilizing various property record databases to ascertain ownership and relevant details.
- Coordinate properties undergoing legal processes, liaising with external legal teams and managing associated financial documentation.
- Review title searches to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Facilitate intergovernmental property transfers, ensuring all documentation is recorded appropriately.
- Prepare and execute various contractual agreements, including licenses and grants.
- Assist in maintaining accurate property inventory records and tracking maintenance expenses.
- Prepare materials for board meetings, including presentations and reports.
- Monitor compliance with administrative guidelines and deadlines related to funding and project milestones.
- Support the administrative functions of the team, providing clerical assistance as needed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Real Estate, Finance, or Urban Planning, along with a minimum of two years of experience in real estate transactions or property management. Proficiency in software tools such as Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with tax foreclosures and property sales.
- Understanding of local government regulations and land use policies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Competencies:
The candidate should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
