Baptist Health System - San Antonio TX is in search of a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in the Operating Room for a nursing position in San Antonio, Texas.
Job OverviewAs a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional nursing care to patients across various age groups, from infants to the elderly, while adhering to established standards and practices.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver professional nursing care with minimal supervision.
- Support the mission, policies, and procedures of the Baptist Health System.
- Complete all required competencies during the introductory period.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
Preferred Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Minimum Experience: No prior experience required.
Preferred Experience: Completion of a peri-anesthesia or critical care internship/training course.
Licensure and CertificationsRequired Licensure: Current Texas State License for Registered Nurse or eligibility for state board certification.
Preferred Certifications:
- Surgery - CNOR Board eligible/certified
- Post Anesthesia - CPAN Board eligible/certified
- GI Lab – SGNA Board eligible/certified
All candidates must possess the following certifications:
- BLS - Active healthcare provider Basic Life Support upon hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
- AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role for all Surgical Services areas.
- AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into the role for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
Compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding mandatory vaccination is required. If selected for this position, proof of full vaccination or an approved exemption will be necessary prior to the start date.
