L3Harris is seeking a highly skilled Lead Systems Engineer to join our team in Salt Lake City, UT.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will lead the design and architecture of communications systems from a technical perspective, providing technical leadership for DoD programs. This role requires a strong understanding of communication theory, digital design, RF design, mechanical design, network design, or software design of digital line-of-sight and satellite communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead systems engineering tasks, including requirements analysis, requirements decomposition, and assignment of requirements to functional areas.
  • Develop and present project/program design reviews for internal and external customer audiences.
  • Manage technical performance, quality, and adherence to established policies and processes.
  • Lead or assist in project/program schedule and budget planning, subcontract control, risk management.
  • Lead or assist in management of systems engineering team and other teams of functional design engineers.
  • Participate in customer request for information (RFI), request for proposal (RFP) and new business development pursuits.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior systems engineering experience.
  • A current and active US DoD Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Top Secret or TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Experience in product development, preferably in military application environment.
  • Experience in networking systems and performing work in a lab.
  • Hardware and/or Software Development program and/or lab integrations experience.
  • Leadership skills, with the ability to guide the technical direction/vision for a given project.
