Regional Pesticide Technician

Important Note: This position REQUIRES a valid Florida state-issued Pesticide or Herbicide Applicator's License.

Typical Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer herbicide treatments in compliance with Department of Agriculture regulations.
• Identify and manage invasive and protected plant species with care.
• Prepare and refill herbicide mixtures and other necessary materials.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on spraying equipment.
• Guide and mentor junior technicians on safe herbicide storage and application practices.
• Utilize hand tools such as trimmers, edgers, pole-saws, and blowers.
• Maintain cleanliness of ditches, drainage systems, and road shoulders, while removing debris.
• Assist in traffic management during incidents requiring lane closures.

Qualifications:

• Current Florida Driver's License (no exceptions)
• Florida state-issued Pesticide or Herbicide Applicator's License
• Physical ability to lift required weights.
• Willingness to work outdoors for the majority of the shift.
• Comfortable working near active traffic.
