Monday - Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

THE ROLE

  • Applies herbicide to areas on and near local area roadways and highways per Dept. of Agriculture coding and laws
  • Identifies invasive and protected plant species, using caution to perform spray functions
  • Mixes or refills herbicides and other materials
  • Performs general maintenance or troubleshooting on spraying components
  • Mentors technicians on proper storage and use of herbicides, safe usage of equipment, and complaint application of products
  • Uses hand equipment, such as: trimmer, edger, pole-saw, blower
  • Cleans and grades ditches, drainage structures, road shoulders, slopes, removes litter and debris
  • Responds to accidents with lane closures and cone placement (similar to flagging) aka MOT (Maintenance of Traffic) or temporary traffic control

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Valid and Current Florida Driver's License (sorry, no exceptions)
  • Florida state issued Pesticide or Herbicide Applicator's License
  • Ability to lift 50 - 60 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors most of your shift
  • Ability to work along highways with traffic passing by at varying rates of speed
