Job Title: Swim Lesson Instructor PT

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Lesson Instructor to join our team at Washington City. As a Swim Lesson Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons to individuals and groups, providing a safe and supportive learning environment, and promoting water safety and aquatic education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach swimming lessons to individuals and groups, including children and adults
  • Provide clear and concise instructions, demonstrations, and feedback to students
  • Recognize and address trouble areas and errors in student technique
  • Maintain a positive and friendly learning environment
  • Work under the general direction of the Aquatics Manager, Aquatics Coordinator, Pool Supervisor, and/or Head Guards
Requirements:
  • Any combination of training and experience that indicates possession of the skills, knowledge, and abilities listed below
  • Knowledge of swimming and ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions and be courteous to fellow employees and pool patrons
  • Must be willing and eligible to obtain facility instructor certification for swim lessons and be at least 15 years old
Work Environment:

The incumbent of this position performs in a typical pool setting with appropriate climate controls and typical settings associated with indoor/outdoor recreation. Tasks require a variety of physical activities, including communicating, i.e., talking, hearing, and seeing, which is essential to job effectiveness. Common eye, hand, and finger dexterity exist, and mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, discriminating thinking, and creative problem solving.
