Senior Import Operations Specialist

Position Summary
The Senior Import Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth delivery of import shipments to clients across North America. This position requires effective communication with team members, management, and both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate clear communication among staff and management to ensure timely and accurate import shipments.
- Oversee the workload distribution among team members to maintain high standards of accuracy.
- Report any concerns regarding staff performance, adherence to company policies, and customer satisfaction to management.
- Ensure that desk duties are adequately covered during staff absences.
- Coordinate and promote cross-training initiatives within the department.
- Implement and monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance across all accounts.
- Engage in ongoing training and motivational programs to foster compliance and success.
- Maintain a systematic file audit process.
- Encourage participation in Kaizen and PRIDE initiatives whenever feasible.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a High School Diploma or GED, along with a minimum of four years of relevant experience in transportation, logistics, or project management. A combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Essential skills include:
- Exceptional customer service abilities with a strong capacity to engage with diverse individuals.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Working knowledge of the Windows operating system and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Adeptness in assessing situations, conducting root cause analysis, and proposing solutions.
- Capability to develop processes that enhance organizational efficiency.
