Job Summary

The University of Oklahoma is seeking a skilled GIS Project Developer to support the Center for Spatial Analysis (CSA) in developing and maintaining geospatial applications and projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in GIS technology, including application development, analysis, and project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain complex geographic datasets and GIS web applications, performing updates and edits as needed.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform geospatial decisions, researching source documents to resolve missing or conflicting data.
  • Perform standard spatial analyses and develop custom geospatial solutions and applications for projects.
  • Manage project timelines and provide status reports to ensure task completion within established deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain databases, integrating GIS with other technologies as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as GIS, computer science, or a related field.
  • 24 months of technical experience in GIS development, analysis, and project management.
  • Proficiency in Esri products, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and Portal.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, and JavaScript.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in custom geospatial application development, grant writing, higher education, or government.
  • Professional-level expertise in geographic reasoning, geospatial technologies, and spatial programming applications.
