Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled SAS Grid Administrator to join our team at Technology Ventures. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day operation support for SAS Grid platforms, both on-prem and on AWS cloud, and providing technical support to developers, researchers, and analysts.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAS Grid Software 9.4+ and experience with SAS Viya 3.x/4, SAS Enterprise Guide 7.x, SAS Studio 3.x, SAS/ACCESS, SAS/Connect, SQL, Python, R, Shell Scripting, Yaml, and Json.

The successful candidate will also have experience with cloud orchestration tools like Cloud Formation or Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines in systems like Jenkins, AWS Code Pipeline.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day operation support for SAS Grid platforms
  • Providing technical support to developers, researchers, and analysts
  • Upgrading SAS Grid clusters from SAS 9.4 M4 to SAS 9.4 M8 and migrating all applications and users to the new upgraded environment
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including system diagrams and operational procedures
  • Troubleshooting installation issues, user issues on SAS AWS and On-prem Clusters
  • Maintaining and developing Knowledge Base Articles and Wiki Pages to document standard work and troubleshooting guides
  • Reviewing and understanding SAS logs to determine GRID errors and whether GRID is functioning correctly
  • Backing up and restoring SAS within a GRID environment
  • Assessing and optimizing performance of the SAS GRID environment
  • Managing all GRID nodes from a centralized location
  • Adding nodes to the GRID environment, or reconfiguring nodes

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of server security and folders, and experience configuring SAS for High Availability within GRID environment, including Metadata Server.

Desired qualifications include experience with SAS GRID-related high availability and failover requirements, including storage architecture and configuration (Amazon FSx for Lustre), and experience with and applying SAS GRID usage tracking, monitoring, alerts notification and load balancing.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and meet deadlines.

Key competencies include the ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously, knowledgeable in the AWS Well Architected Framework, and general knowledge of project management.
