We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Manager to join our team at Swinerton. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the scheduling and installation of electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, as well as overseeing MEP standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and oversee MEP standards and procedures, including all MEP-related activities, tracking, scheduling, and quality management.
- Assist with developing and training junior MEP staff.
- Attend and/or lead project and team meetings, develop agendas, and ensure open items are resolved.
- Develop sequences of installation and schedule for MEP components.
- Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittal schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy, and follow up and resolve issues/concerns identified.
- Oversee sequence of startup and commissioning by project needs to assist the commissioning process.
- Inspect equipment, materials, and fabrications as necessary.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with project teams, subcontractors, and key agencies.
- Provide constructability review of all MEP trade scopes and documents, identify issues, and partner with project teams on resolutions.
- Assist project team in reviewing change order request for MEP scope.
- Monitor on-site work to ensure compliance with contract requirements and schedule.
- Establish testing schedules, coordinate testing of systems, conduct inspections onsite.
- Participate in BIM coordination and assist with MEP design from preconstruction to construction.
- Assist with value engineering to reduce cost and expedite schedules.
- Review project close-out package, including schedules, as-builts, and other relevant documents.
- Assist with buyout of MEP scopes, developing budgets, pricing, and scope documents.
- Assist with evaluating MEP bids scopes and analyze for scope issues, qualifications, and risks.
- Make recommendations on subcontractor performance and suitability for bidding certain jobs.
- Assist with high-level bid leveling and pre-bid RFI's of MEP Scopes.
- Identify and execute risk mitigation strategies with project teams.
- Assist with trainings on MEP procedures, systems, standards, and best practices.
- Degree in construction or engineering or equivalent working experience.
- Minimum 10 years of construction experience or field-related experience, with a minimum of 5 years of working experience in MEP role.
- Safety OSHA 30 or ability to acquire within 6 months.
- Demonstrated working experience and knowledge of MEP systems and procedures.
- Working knowledge and understanding of building codes.
- Experience with estimating and preconstruction.
- Understands contract language and requirements.
- Ability to identify, address, and solve jobsite problems.
- Able to collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to drive project success.
- Proficient in reading and working with plans, RFI's, submittals, and specifications.
- Ability to use of VD&C applications.
- Working knowledge of Construction management and scheduling software (P6, CMiC is a plus).
- Strong computer skills.
- Emotional Control, resourcefulness, adaptability, and strong time management skills.
- Effective English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to oversee/support multiple projects over a large geographic area as required.
- Ability to travel as required by management and/or work requirements.
