Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Care Nurse to join our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, including those with cardiovascular, stroke, and trauma cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation: Accurately interpret and monitor patient cardiac rhythm strips, notifying physicians of any changes.
  • Collaborative Care: Collaborate with respiratory therapists and physicians to manage patients on ventilators.
  • Hemodynamic Monitoring: Handle stable hemodynamic monitoring.
  • Patient Engagement: Engage patients and families in care plans, setting short and long-term goals.
  • Code Blue Leadership: Lead Code Blues and participate in the Rapid Response team.
  • Medication Management: Manage titration of multiple medications, assessing and documenting patient responses.
Qualifications
  • Current California RN License
  • BLS and ACLS Certifications (NIHSS preferred or within 90 days of hire)
  • Minimum of 1 Year of ICU Acute Hospital Experience
  • ASN Required (BSN Strongly Preferred)
  • CCRN, Trauma Certification, or Critical Care Course Preferred
  • Experience in Cardiovascular (Open Heart) and/or Trauma Care a Plus
Unit Details
  • 18 Beds
  • Patient Population: Cardiovascular, stroke, and trauma patients requiring intensive monitoring
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1 or 1:2
Schedule
  • Night Shift: 7:00pm - 7:30am
  • Rotating Holidays and Every Other Weekend
  • No On-Call Requirement
