Position Overview:
Universal Engineering Sciences (UES) is seeking a dedicated Geotechnical Specialist to join our esteemed Geotechnical Department.
As a leader in the fields of Geotechnical Engineering, Construction Materials Testing, and Environmental Services, UES is proud to be recognized for our rapid growth and commitment to excellence.
In this role, you will work under the guidance of a project manager or supervisor, assisting in the organization and execution of field, laboratory, and technical tasks across various projects. This position offers substantial hands-on training to enhance your existing theoretical knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct field investigations by locating, observing, and documenting borings, probes, and test pits based on project plans.
2. Engage in drilling and sampling activities utilizing both manual and powered hand augering tools.
3. Install, monitor, and interpret data from field instruments, including observation wells and inclinometers.
4. Ensure compliance with project goals through diligent observation of field operations and prepare detailed reports of findings.
5. Implement loss prevention strategies to mitigate risks.
6. Collaborate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and client representatives to ensure smooth field operations.
7. Communicate any challenges, cost implications, or changes in project scope to the project leader or supervisor to facilitate successful project completion.
9. Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, or Earth Sciences.
- Engineer-in-Training Certificate is preferred for engineering candidates.
- A strong educational background complemented by a solid work ethic and the ability to respond effectively to project demands.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on technical writing.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical observations and analyses.
