Job Overview
As a Regional CDL Transport Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of containers to and from various customer locations. Your role is crucial in ensuring that deliveries and pickups are executed without incidents while fostering positive relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a commercial vehicle equipped with a specialized lift system to safely load and unload containers at customer sites, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and lift equipment, documenting findings as required.
  • Accommodate additional delivery requests as necessary to support operational needs.
  • Utilize a company-issued handheld device for delivery confirmations and route navigation.
  • Skillfully operate a forklift and/or overhead crane as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentability of containers prior to customer delivery.
  • Facilitate rental agreements and payment processing with clients.
  • Engage with the Driver Lead or Market Manager regarding customer inquiries or issues, and prepare necessary driver notes.
  • Perform on-site repairs of containers and lifting equipment as required.
  • Provide assistance with storage center operations when necessary.
  • Ensure the truck cab is kept clean and free of debris.
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned.

Compensation
$23.75 per hour

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid CDL Class A License required, without air brake restriction.
  • Must maintain a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Must meet PODS Driver Qualification Standards.
  • Minimum age of 21 years required for insurance purposes.
  • Possess a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate or the ability to obtain a minimum one-year certification (DOT requirement).
  • Experience with electronic devices and software is preferred.
  • Basic math skills necessary for job functions.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • Willingness to participate in a mandatory two-week New Hire Driver Training Program.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position while driving or operating a forklift.
  • Ability to frequently ascend and descend the truck cab and forklift using three points of contact.
  • Capability to move about and position oneself to operate equipment and deliver containers.
  • Occasional lifting of boxes weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus; strong spatial awareness for parking and maneuvering in tight spaces.
  • Frequent use of hands for writing, operating a motor vehicle, and handling documents.
  • Regularly apply up to 40 pounds of pressure using various motions, including pushing, pulling, and lifting.
  • Ability to read and write clearly and accurately.
  • Frequent communication with managers, coworkers, and customers.

Work Environment

  • Shift start times may vary; additional hours may be required, including weekends.
  • Travel within the designated location territory.
  • Storage centers may lack climate control except in specific areas.
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality are essential.
  • Subject to pre-employment background checks and drug screenings, as well as random screenings in accordance with company policy and DOT regulations.
