Prepare patients for orthopedic interventions by clarifying procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout.
Apply and remove casts, splints, and braces as instructed by the physician.
Assist physicians in managing fractures and dislocations.
Order and oversee the inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment.
Sanitize and sterilize tools and instruments to guarantee patient safety.
Maintain precise patient records and ensure they are current.
Qualifications:
Educational Background
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Certification from a Medical Assisting Program, STNA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong customer service, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
- Preferred: One year of prior healthcare experience.
- Preferred: Experience as an Orthopedic Cast Technician, Suture Technician, or EMT.
