Salary Range
The annual pay range for this position is $115,500 - $184,500 USD, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and locations. This compensation package accommodates variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations.
Job Description
As a Digital Verification Engineer at Ciena, you will be involved in the verification of our widely used Wavelogic family of products, working within a team of digital design engineers, verification engineers, and architects. Your role will encompass proposing and implementing innovative verification strategies to thoroughly simulate and validate functional blocks and subsystems. Key responsibilities include:
- Reading and understanding architecture and functional requirements specification documents, collaborating with systems engineers and architects.
- Completing thorough validation of one or more architectural functional blocks using simulation, formal, and coverage methods.
- Building verification, functional coverage, and formal verification test plans.
- Creating testbench environments and components, agents, scoreboards, and test scenarios related to your architectural functional block using System Verilog UVM and/or C where applicable.
- Performing coverage-driven verification, formal verification, monitoring regressions, and debugging resulting failures with the help of function designers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- An electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or other relevant scientific degree at the BEng/BSc or MEng/MSc level.
- A highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently while being a great teammate.
- The ability to methodically tackle sophisticated technical problems.
- Excellent organization, written, and oral (English) interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with formal verification methods.
- Familiarity with standards and protocols such as OTN, B100G, Ethernet.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Make, bash, object-oriented programming, C, C++, and System C.
