Job Summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As a LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or other assigned supervisor. Your responsibilities will include collecting data through observation, communicating information to assist in patient assessment and care planning, and participating as a member of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to assigned patients under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or other assigned supervisor.
  • Collect data through observation and communicate information to assist in patient assessment and care planning.
  • Participate as a member of the healthcare team and accept delegation from the RN/assigned supervisor and provider in meeting the needs of the patient/family.
  • Deliver care in accordance with the patient care plan, policies and procedures of the organization, and principles of relationship-based care.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, be skillful in mentoring and instructing, and may participate on committees or projects, including quality improvement projects.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a school of practical nursing or passed LPN Boards after a defined period in a professional nursing program.
  • If graduation did not occur within the last two years, one year of LPN experience working in an applicable setting is required.
  • One year LPN experience within the last five years preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Computer skills required, prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, weekends, and on-call.
  • Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work setting.
License or Certification
  • Must obtain prior to start date: Current LPN license by applicable state requirements.
  • Maintains current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.
  • We will only accept certificates of course completion from the following providers: American Heart Association (Title: BLS for Healthcare Providers or BLS Provider), Red Cross (Title: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers or BLS for Healthcare Providers), Military Training Network.
Compensation and Benefits

$29.12/hour, benefits eligible, full-time schedule, 80 hours/pay period, Monday-Friday, clinic-based hours, no weekends or holidays.
