We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Courtyard at Kennedy in Titusville, Florida. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for managing and supervising the preparation of food and the kitchen team, ensuring that all dishes meet the high standards of Delaware North.
Key Responsibilities- Team Management: Assist in hiring, development, training, and mentoring of team members, and act as a resource to them.
- Performance Evaluations: Coach, counsel, and assist in conducting performance evaluations of the production team.
- Training and Development: Assist in developing training and training programs for the production team.
- Staffing and Scheduling: Monitor staffing levels to minimize cost and increase productivity, recommend staffing needs according to business levels.
- Team Culture: Maintain a team-oriented atmosphere.
- Culinary Experience: Three years' culinary arts experience, including previous experience in a management role, preferably in a high-volume, quality-oriented restaurant or banquets department.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills working with a variety of team members of different skill levels and varied backgrounds.
- Technical Skills: Proficient computer skills in Word, Excel, and the kitchen computer production system.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, written and oral, and good listening skills.
- Adaptability: Ability to handle many tasks at once and effectiveness in a fast-paced work environment with good decision-making skills and ability to proactively make changes as needed.
- Scheduling: Ability to work flexible schedule to accommodate business levels.
