About the RoleThe i9 Sports Baseball/T-Ball Coach is responsible for enhancing the overall experience for our youth sports programs. As a coach, you will work with volunteer coaches to deliver a positive, dynamic, and effective instructional experience for young athletes. Your role will involve hands-on involvement with practices and games across various age groups and skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:- Instruction and Skill Development: Teach young athletes the fundamental skills and techniques of baseball, implementing age-appropriate drills and exercises to enhance their abilities. Provide constructive feedback to help players improve their performance and complete mandatory preseason training sessions.
- Game Officiating: Serve as an official for youth t-ball and baseball games, ensuring fair play and adherence to rules. Maintain a professional and unbiased demeanor while officiating games and address rule violations and conflicts with fairness and diplomacy.
- Safety and Supervision: Ensure the safety of all participants during practices and games. Supervise and manage groups of young athletes, maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere, and address any safety concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, participants, and fellow staff members. Provide updates on program activities and address questions, concerns, and feedback from parents and participants professionally.
- Previous experience coaching or playing baseball.
- Knowledge of baseball rules and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when working with children and parents.
- A passion for youth sports and the development of young athletes.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Availability to work each weekend of the given season.
- Ability to efficiently solve problems.
- Ability to motivate and manage others.
- Extremely reliable and responsible.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Must have own vehicle/reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass background check.
