Role Summary and Requirements

Trident Medical Center is actively looking for a Full-time clinical Medical Physicist to join our accredited Radiation Oncology Department. This position has become available due to the expansion of our Cancer Center programs. The ideal candidate should possess board certification and have over five years of relevant experience, including familiarity with ARIA, Eclipse, Oncentra HDR, and Varian linacs. We offer a balanced, part-time, and on-site work environment.

Our radiation therapy services are provided at a single facility, equipped with advanced technology, including Truebeam accelerators and a CT-SIM unit. Our team manages a patient load of approximately 50-60 daily, utilizing various treatment methodologies.

Our physics team comprises experienced professionals, and we operate on a flexible schedule that allows for a mix of 8 and 10-hour shifts. We utilize a range of physics equipment and software to ensure efficient and precise treatment planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct quality assurance testing and calibration of radiation therapy equipment in accordance with established protocols.
  • Perform initial treatment plan evaluations to ensure safe and effective dose delivery.
  • Provide ongoing physics consultation throughout patient treatment.
  • Support treatment planning and assist with image fusion processes.
  • Act as a resource for staff and physicians regarding physics-related inquiries.
  • Implement new technologies and treatment modalities.
  • Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and foster teamwork among colleagues.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all patients and staff.
  • Supervise brachytherapy procedures and participate in safety committees.
