Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor patients for potential side effects and complications related to radiation therapy.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding radiation therapy and its effects.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in the state of West Virginia.
  • Experience in radiation oncology or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field.

The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, communicate effectively with patients and colleagues, and prioritize tasks to meet the needs of the department.

Physical Requirements

The Radiation Oncology Nurse will be required to stand for long periods, lift patients and equipment, and work in a clinical environment with potential exposure to biohazards and infectious diseases.
