Position: BAS/Automation Controls Technician/Installer

Role Overview: The BAS/Automation Controls Technician/Installer plays a crucial role in the installation and support of Building Automation Systems. This includes the installation of control components, low voltage wiring, terminations, and system start-up, as well as troubleshooting issues that may arise. A valid CT E2 or L6 License is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan installations to optimize material usage and ensure compliance with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit as needed.
  • Pull wiring through conduit and ensure proper labeling.
  • Install concealed wiring prior to the completion of walls, ceilings, and flooring.
  • Locate, mount, and terminate BAS end devices, including temperature sensors and relays.
  • Assist in job commissioning, start-up procedures, and provide training to owners when necessary.
  • Create sketches to document the as-built locations of wiring and equipment.
  • Participate in project meetings as required.
  • Be available for overtime, varied shifts, and occasional travel.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings effectively.
  • Communicate efficiently with supervisors and team members.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with other trades on-site.

Qualifications:

  • CT E2, L6, or S2 License is required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, with a certificate from a technical school preferred, along with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and appropriate occupational license as applicable.
  • Ability to work overtime, varied shifts, and travel as necessary.
  • Strong skills in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Proficient in applying mathematical concepts such as fractions and ratios to practical scenarios.
  • Effective communication skills with supervisors and team members.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require bending, climbing, kneeling, and standing.
