Job Description

Clean Harbors, a leading provider of environmental and industrial services, is seeking a highly skilled Refinery Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations group, you will be responsible for leading the re-refining process, including associated tank farms and plant utilities functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage overall production of the refinery, ensuring it meets plan and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage budgets for re-refinery process chemicals, capital projects, supplies, and utilities.
  • Select and manage hydro treating catalysts to optimize refinery performance.
  • Participate in shutdown planning, process troubleshooting, and analysis of process data to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Communicate effectively with management and operations staff to ensure smooth operations and resolve issues promptly.
  • Lead the hiring, training, coaching, evaluation, and discipline of staff to build a high-performing operations team.
  • Ensure process operations are within safe operating limits, comply with regulatory and corporate EH&S requirements, and meet ISO quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the refinery, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in refining operations, including leadership and management roles.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 25%.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Experience with financial analysis, business planning, and strategy development.
  • Technical knowledge of refining processes and operations.
