Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate resident interests and involvement in life skills
  • Develop personalized life skills tailored to each resident's unique needs and abilities
  • Engage residents in life skills throughout the day and evening
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of life skills programming supplies
  • As applicable, assist residents with daily care of animals and/or plants as part of the life skills program
Qualifications:
  • One year of experience working with memory-impaired seniors
  • High school diploma or GED accepted, with certification(s) required per state regulations
  • Ability to motivate and encourage residents, with knowledge of adapting life skills to cognitive and functional abilities
  • Ability to inspire and motivate volunteers and fellow team members to engage residents in meaningful activities
  • Competent in organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work semi-independently without direct supervision, following community procedures and guidelines
  • Basic proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new applications
