Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician (Family Practice) to join our team at the Indian Health Service. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive clinical medical care to patients in a primary and secondary setting.

Responsibilities
  • Examine and diagnose health-related conditions, make referrals, and prescribe appropriate therapy.
  • Educate individuals in health-related conditions, recommended therapy, and promotion of health.
  • Record patient-provider transactions in medical record format.
  • Develop effective relationships with patients, maintaining cultural sensitivity when treating or assisting in patient care.
Requirements
  • Must pass pre-employment examination.
  • Selectee may be subject to a probationary/trial period.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must have a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent degree from a school in the United States or Canada. You must also have a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.

Additional Requirements

You must have at least 3 years of graduate training in the specialty of Internal Medicine and/or Family Practice or equivalent experience and training. You must also meet the Time-In-Grade Requirements.

Education

You must have a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent degree from a school in the United States or Canada. You must also have a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
