Job Summary

As a Pharmaceutical Care Specialist at Beacon Health System, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for our patients. This position requires a strong foundation in pharmacology, therapeutics, and patient care. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with healthcare professionals and patients alike.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and transcribe medication orders accurately, maintaining patient medication profiles up-to-date.
  • Filling and verifying package forms, preparing intravenous admixtures, and ensuring safe medication handling practices.
  • Monitoring medication therapy regimens for contraindications, drug-drug interactions, and other potential risks.
  • Providing consultation and clarification to practitioners, suggesting therapeutic alternatives, and documenting clinical activities and interventions accurately.
  • Conducting research, sharing information, and maintaining records related to pharmaceutical procurement, dispensing, and use.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy or Pharm D from an accredited school of pharmacy or successful completion of the foreign pharmacy equivalency exam.
  • Licensure as a registered pharmacist or eligible for licensure in the State of Indiana.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with physicians, hospital staff, and other healthcare professionals.
