About the Job:

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Specialist to join our team at Optalis Healthcare. This is a dynamic role that involves implementing and evaluating diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory services to assist physicians in the diagnosis and management of residents with cardiopulmonary and related disorders.

Responsibilities:

This position requires continuous education of nursing staff on respiratory procedures, lecturing on respiratory diseases and management plans, implementing respiratory protocols and auditing medications, capping and decannulating trached residents, providing respiratory therapeutic services, assessing residents and recommending treatment plans, documentation and education of residents and families, and providing diagnostic respiratory services and non-invasive monitoring.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have an Associate Degree in Respiratory Care from a JRCRTE-accredited institution, minimum 2 years of experience, licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist in Michigan, certified by the NBRC, BLS certification, and critical thinking, self-direction, communication, organizational, and basic computer skills.

Physical Demands:

This role requires long periods of standing and walking, lifting objects over 25 pounds occasionally, constant hand-eye coordination and ability to see objects closely, and distinguishing various sounds such as auscultation and patient monitoring alarms.

Mental Requirements:

The successful candidate will be able to concentrate on moderate to fine detail for extended periods, attend to tasks for 20-60 minutes at a time, understand and relate to theories behind several concepts, remember multiple tasks and assignments, and work well under pressure.

Compensation:

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
